The lawyer we spoke with said it was not going to be worth it to sue the "lovely" people that have left us holding a bag with our hands tied. Although did say we could probably win. The house is re-listed but we can not sell till we get a termination letter signed by buyers and noone can get in touch with them or their lawyer.
The HOA is threatining to tow the bus because it was supposed to be gone by Friday. It was not our plan to still be here. Crap happens. Please don't tow it. We will be gone by monday no matter what. I promise. Cut us a bit of slack, please. The driveway around the back tire has cracked and sunk a bit. Surely we will have to fix that. I see more $$$$$ flying out the window that is non-exsistant at the moment.
Everyone is beyond exhausted and cranky at this point.
If the house doesn't sell in the next couple of months the bank gets it and we lose the money that was supposed to pay for the conversion of the bus. That will leave us with a mountain of debt on top of the mountain that we got into trying to keep the darned house when business went south. As you can see it only gets better.
Kinda makes me more nervous about what life on the road has got in store for us. The imagination is in overdrive. Not in a good way either. It's been one hell of a ride getting there.
I have been holding onto faith with all my might but to be honest I don't know how much longer I can keep it together. God is gonna have to give me a booster shot or send this ride to a comfortable cruising level for awhile and quickly.

  1. Perhaps if the "lovely" people didn't see a bus parked in the deed restricted community they thought they were moving into, they wouldn't have run away screaming! Have you ever thought of how other people feel? Do you really think its fair for your current neighbors to be dealing with this?

  2. firstly, do not give "anonymous'" comment a moment's thought. you know they're one of your uptight neighbors. good riddance.

moving on to the point i originally intended to make -- we have had a similiar experience with people backing out after contract. it happens. it's really stressful. but, it becomes "the past" at some point. we thought it was the end of the world at the time; totally irrelevant today (: hang in there.

i also wanted to direct you to the blog of "the barenaked family". they are a hilarious family who gave up a very "successful" life to connect as a family full time RV life. it's inspirational and hilarious. it might be just want you need to bolster what you're doing and what you're going through.

and, i'm going to make a presumption here and i hope that it doesn't offend you, but i would say that before these current circumstances you were into the conspicuous consumption scene with 3600 sf in a prestigious and exclusive "community". i hope that you all have moved on from that in heart, not just in actual foreclosure circumstances.

i generally don't feel compelled to comment (or read, for that matter) blogs. who knows. maybe we'll meet on the road some day.

much joyous family love to you

  4. First I would like to say that the bus was not intended to stay here for more than a couple of days. Pack and be on our merry way was the game plan. I do understand regulations. I have respected and abided by them. Circumstances happen and we are human. HAVE A HEART!!.The bus is gone and we will be too in a few days. Good riddance.
It Couldn't Be Clearer -- so why'd it take so long? :
Thank-you for your comment. We have sooo... moved beyond trying to fit into a snobby neighborhood full of gossip and lies. People are people and real is so much better. One thing I have learned in life is that you can NEVER surpass one hand counting true friends. Hope to meet up on the road one day and add another tried and true friend. thank-you.
